Thunder Season Ends with OT Loss to Fort Wayne

ECHL Wichita Thunder June 14, 2021 - FORT WAYNE, IN - Matthew Boudens scored 1:25 into overtime to give Fort Wayne a 4-3 win over Wichita in Game 5 on Monday night at Memorial Coliseum. Matteo Gennaro, Bobby McMann and Jay Dickman provided the offense while Alex Peters had two assists. Fort Wayne got on the board first just 2:12 into the game. Oliver Cooper skated behind the net and went for a wrap-around attempt. Evan Buitenhuis had his stick get caught in the traffic and Cooper beat him through the five hole to make it 1-0. ECHL Wichita Thunder June 14, 2021 - FORT WAYNE, IN - Wichita and Fort Wayne will collide tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Game 5 of their first round playoff series with the winner moving on to the Western Conference Finals to face Allen. The Thunder evened up the series on Saturday night with a 4-2 win at Memorial Coliseum. Matteo Gennaro had two goals while Brayden Watts had two helpers. Gennaro Paces Thunder Past Komets; Forces Game 5 on Monday

ECHL Wichita Thunder June 12, 2021 - FORT WAYNE, IN - Matteo Gennaro scored twice in a four-minute span in the third period and Wichita held off a late rally from Fort Wayne for a 4-2 win on Saturday night at Memorial Coliseum. The Thunder ties their first round series with the Komets at two and will play Monday night for a deciding Game 5. Spencer Dorowicz gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead at 9:41 of the first. Thunder Looks to Extend Series Tonight in Fort Wayne

ECHL Wichita Thunder June 12, 2021 - FORT WAYNE, IN - Wichita will look to stay alive tonight in its first round series against Fort Wayne starting at 6:30 p.m. CST at Memorial Coliseum. The Komets took a 2-1 series lead last night with a 3-0 victory over the Thunder. Dylan Ferguson claimed his first playoff shutout of his career, stopping 29 shots.
