Wind Surge Announce 2026 Coaching Staff

January 14, 2026 - WICHITA, Kansas - The Minnesota Twins announced their 2026 Minor League coaching staffs, including the staff for their Double-A affiliate the Wichita Wind Surge. Nico Giarratano will take the helm as manager of the Wind Surge, taking over for Brian Dinkelman who was promoted to manage the Minnesota Twins Class AAA club, the St Paul Saints, following one season in Wichita. The Chili Buns Return this Season

January 8, 2026 - The Wichita Wind Surge will become the Wichita Chili Buns on Friday, April 17th and Saturday the 18th. The Chili Buns host the Springfield Cardinals at Equity Bank Park. A midwestern/Wichita food dish is returning for a fun-filled weekend. The team took the field as a terrific comfort food: The Wichita Chili Buns in 2024 and after a year hiatus and demand will bring it back. Equity Bank Park Named Professional Baseball Field of the Year

January 6, 2026 - Wichita KS - The Sports Field Management Association and Wichita Wind Surge have announced that Equity Bank Park, the home of the Wind Surge, has been named the 2025 Professional Baseball Field of the Year. The SFMA Field of the Year honor is awarded to the best natural grass field among all 120 teams across all levels of affiliated Minor League Baseball. The Wichita Wind Surge Announce 2026 Game Times

December 1, 2025 - The Wichita Wind Surge announced their game times for the 2026 baseball season. The Surge will open the season at home on Thursday, April 2 against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the AA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. First pitch at 6:35 pm. The 2026 home schedule will consist of 69 games taking place at Equity Bank Park. The schedule will be similar to recent seasons with most series beginning on a Tuesday and wrapping up on Sunday.
