"Super Fans" to drop puck tonight
February 21, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Grrrowl News Release
GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers have announced that LEE AND MARILYN PARKER will drop the puck prior to tonight's' game at the BI-LO Center. The Grrrowl will host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05pm.
The Parker's have attended 299 consecutive games to see the Grrrowl play, at home and on the road. The last game that they missed, due to a death in the family, was April 17, 2002 when the Grrrowl clinched the second round playoff series in Florence against the Pee Dee Pride, on their way to the Kelly Cup Championship. Even though they were not in attendance for that game, their favorite team jerseys were draped over their seats at the game in Florence.
Since the inception of the Grrrowl organization, the Parker's have missed only 46 games out of the 514 that have been played (includes regular season and playoffs). Monday will be game number 515 for the Grrrowl.
After tonight's home game, the Grrrowl will travel to Charleston to play the Stingrays on Tuesday night, and will return to the BI-LO Center this weekend to play the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, and the Pee Dee Pride on Saturday. Greenville is 26-20-4 overall, having won 8 of its last 11 games.
