Ice Pilots Winning Streak ends at franchise best 12 games which is the longest in the ECHL this season and second most in league history. The Pensacola Ice Pilots went 2-1 this past week to improve their overall record to 34-12-4 for 72 points. The Ice Pilots record continues to be the best in the ECHL and the Ice Pilots continue to have the most points in the entire league. The 12 game winning streak is the longest in franchise history and the longest in the ECHL this season. The 12 game winning streak is also the second longest in league history.
The Ice Pilots won 3-2 vs. South Carolina at home on Monday night. Nick Lindberg scored two goals in the game and Chris St. Jacques scored the game winning goal. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie as the Ice Pilots had a season high 60 shots on goal.
The Ice Pilots won 5-4 in a shootout on Friday night at Florida in front of a standing room crowd of 7,505 fans. Scott May scored two goals for the Ice Pilots. Tyler Beechey and Dwayne Hay also scored goals during regulation. The Ice Pilots had 33 shots on goal and went 1-4 on the power play also scoring a shorthanded goal. Florida had 49 shots on goal and went 2-3 on the power play. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie stopping all three shots in the shootout.
The Ice Pilots lost 2-1 to Florida on Saturday night in front of 6,927 fans. Alex Materuhkin scored the goal for the Ice Pilots in the game. Steve Saviano and Matt Hendricks scored goals for Florida. The Ice Pilots had 21 shots on goal while Florida had 49. Todd Ford was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots.
The Ice Pilots will play Florida at home on Tuesday, February 22nd at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots are 4-2-1 vs. Florida this year including a record of 1-1-1 at home and 3-1-0 on the road. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 19-23-2 vs. Florida including a record of 9-9-2 at home and 10-14-0 on the road.
The Ice Pilots will play home to Columbia on Friday, February 25th at 7:05 p.m. It is Make A Wish Night sponsored by Emerald Coast Foundation, Bone Fish Grill and KIA Auto Sports. All fans are asked to wear white to the game as it is White Out Night. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 2-1 vs. Columbia including a record of 2-0 on the road and 0-1 at home.
The Ice Pilots will play home to Mississippi on Saturday, February 26th. It is Subway Alumni Night. The Subway Alumni Game begins at 5:05 p.m. followed by the Ice Pilots vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. One ticket is good for both games. Former Ice Pilots Chad Quenneville and Shane Calder will be inducted into the Ice Pilots/Subway Hall of Fame during the first intermission of the game vs. Mississippi.
Former Ice Pilots players will be playing in the Subway Alumni game featuring Christian Sbrocca, Martin "Choo Choo" Chouinard, Craig Brown, Pierre Gendron, Chad Quenneville, Shane Calder and many more. Members of the local media will participate in the game such as WEAR TV 3 News anchor Bob Solarski. WEAR TV 3 Sports Director Dan Shugart and Pensacola News Journal Sports Editor Joe Culpepper will be the Honorary Coaches. The alumni players and current players will wear special alumni jerseys which is currently being auctioned at www.icepilots.com. The jersey auction will end this Friday at Noon Central time. The Ice Pilots have a record of 4-1 vs. Mississippi this season including a record of 3-0 on the road and 1-1 at home. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 28-37-10 vs. Mississippi including a record of 15-17-5 at home and 13-20-5 on the road. A post game autograph session with the Ice Pilots current players will take place after the game.
The Ice Pilots will play home to Columbia on Sunday, February 27th at 5:05 p.m. It is Kids Day. A family of four can purchase four tickets, four sodas, four hot dogs for $44. It is also a Florida Lottery Second Chance night. The Ice Pilots have 100 vouchers for the game to give to the fans who bring $5 worth of non winning Florida Lottery tickets to the civic center box office. The $5 worth of non winning Florida Lottery tickets is worth one voucher. The Ice Pilots will skate after the game with the public skating.
Cell Phone for Soldiers is Friday, Saturday and Sunday: The Ice Pilots will be collecting Cell for Phones for our military overseas at the Ice Pilots home games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans are asked to bring their old and used cell phones to the game to donate. Cell Phone for Soldiers is sponsored by Liberty Tax and for more information call 457-TAXX.
Leading Scorers: Tyler Beechey leads the Ice Pilots in scoring with 61 points and is the leading scorer in the league. Beechey also leads the team with 24 goals which is also the third best in the league. Beechey also leads the team with 37 assists which is the fourth best in the league. Corey Neilson is the leading scoring defenseman in the league with 43 points. Nielson also leads all defenseman with 12 goals and 31 assists. Todd Ford has the third best goals against average in the league at 2.05 and third best save percentage at .938. Frederic Cloutier is first in the league among goalies with 22 wins and is third in the league with 1,027 saves. Cloutier is among league leaders in the league with a 2.43 goals against average and has a personnel ten game winning streak.

Ice Pilots in the Community: The Ice Pilots will be visiting Ransom Middle School on Wednesday from Noon - 1:50 p.m. Ryan Stokes, Dwayne Hay, Aaron Gionet and Jordan Krestanovich will be signing autographs at Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed on Wednesday from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. located at 8650 North Palafox Street. The Ice Pilots will have their fan/player breakfast at IHOP on Monday, February 21sat at 10 a.m. at IHOP two locations at 6707 Pensacola Blvd and Highway 98 in Gulf Breeze. Tyler Beechey and Aaron Phillips will sign autographs at Sports Avenue located inside Cordova Mall this Wednesday night from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. The Ice Pilots Chris St. Jacques, Cory Stillman and Frederic Cloutier will be visiting Holms Elementary School this Thursday morning at 7:15 a.m. to give out safety Tickets for kids wearing seat belts and safety bike helmets to school. Ice Pilots Announce Ticket Packages for Kelly Cup Playoffs and 2005-06 Regular Season: The 14 home game Kelly Cup Playoff ticket invoices will be mailed out in mid to late February. Current Season Ticket holders who purchase the playoff package will have the option to apply any unused balance of the playoff tickets to next year's season tickets or have their balance refunded if any of the 14 home playoff games are not played. Playoff payments are due in full by March 31, 2005.
The renewal process for the 2005-2006 season tickets has begun. There is a dollar increase per ticket for all ticket types in all price levels for 2005-06. Early Bird Special: Season ticket holders can put down a $50 deposit per ticket thru March 31, 2005 witht eh full balance for 2005-06 season tickets due in full by September 1, 2005. There is a monthly payment plan option of 12 payments, beginning May 1, 2005 and ending April 1, 2006.
Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Nick Lindberg has been nominated for the ECHL Player of the Week. Lindberg scored two goals this past week and also scored a goal in the shootout at Florida on Friday night. Goalie Frederic Cloutier has been nominated for the ECHL Goalie of the Week. Cloutier won both games this past week. Frederic Coutier has been named the Dodge Player of the Week.
Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots leading scorer award this season. During the season, we will be updating you with the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed Ice Pilots top scorer. At the end of the season, Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will present a trophy to the Ice Pilots top scorer. Kerr's Kids: For the second season in a row the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite organizations devoted to helping children who are terminally ill or have special limitations to be our guest during the 2004-05 regular season for a great night of hockey. Each organization is encouraged to pick 3-4 dates throughout the regular season. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission for 12 people (We would like to have at least 6 or more children, escorts are required for the children and are counted as part of the 12). SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. If accessible seating is needed the Ice Pilots must be notified at least 2 days in advance and seating will be arranged. All members must stay in assigned seats. Please provide a list of attendee's 24 hours prior to game day. Fans will be able to click on the "Watch the Game Live" icon at the Ice Pilots website to view and listen to the game. Ice Pilots Radio Show at the Gutter Lounge again this season: The Ice Pilots Radio show will once again be broadcasted from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing inside the new Liberty Lanes this year located at 3200 North Palafox Street. The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on the Ice Pilots new flagship radio station AM 1620 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue.
