
Underhill Heads To Providence

BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL announced today that goaltender Matt Underhill has been loaned to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Underhill, 25, receives his second AHL call up this season. The 6-foot-2 and 220-pound appeared in one game in relief with the St. John's Maple Leafs on February 11, playing in 38:32 of action against Manitoba, making all 17 saves before falling 4-3 in the seventh round of the shootout. In 2002-03, Underhill appeared in seven games with Providence posting a 3-3-1 record with a 3.08 goals-against average and .901 save percentage. A native of Campbell River, British Columbia, Underhill has played in 24 games with Mississippi in 2004-05, compiling a 13-8-3 record with three shutouts, a 2.65 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. Underhill was selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round, 170th overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Underhill will be available to the Bruins in their next game at 7:05 p.m. ET on Wednesday against the Lowell Lock Monsters at Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
In 2004-05, four Mississippi players have advanced and remain in the AHL. In addition to Underhill, right wing Lee Jacobson (Cincinnati), left wing Jeff Hutchins (Rochester and currently Grand Rapids) and right wing Jay Legault (Grand Rapids).
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:05 p.m. CT tomorrow against the Columbia Inferno at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
