
Wranglers hit the road for eight straight games

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 0-3-0 record this past week starting with a 5-3 loss to Long Beach at home on Friday night. Saturday night, Las Vegas was defeated 5-3 at home in a rematch with the Ice Dogs. Sunday night, the Wranglers started an eight-game road trip with a 3-2 defeat in Fresno at the Save Mart Center.
This week Las Vegas will continue their eight-game road trip by visiting the first place Long Beach Ice Dogs on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. After Wednesday's game, the Wranglers travel to Victoria, BC for their first game out of the United States on Friday night at 7:00 pm. Las Vegas will meet the Salmon Kings for the second of three games on Saturday night at 7:00 pm. The Wranglers will end their three-game stand in Victoria on Monday, February 28th at 7:00 pm. Las Vegas will then head to Idaho to meet the Steelheads for three games.

The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Long Beach Ice Dogs 5-3 Friday night at the Orleans Arena in front of 5,129 fans. Ice Dogs rookie Marco Rosa had a goal and an assist in the Long Beach win. Ice Dogs' goaltender Olivier Michaud made 37 saves to earn his 12th win of the season. Las Vegas forwards Dustin Johner, Jason Spence and Shawn Limpright each scored for the Wranglers in the loss.

Long Beach 5 at Las Vegas 3
The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Long Beach Ice Dogs 5-3 Saturday night in front of 5,974 fans. Wranglers forward Adam Huxley scored two goals in the loss. Defenseman Christian Chartier scored his seventh goal of the season with assists from forwards Chris Stanley and Jason Spence. Long Beach winger Chris Kenady notched two goals and an assist in the Ice Dogs victory.

Las Vegas 2 at Fresno 3
The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Fresno Falcons 3-2 at the Save Mart Center on Sunday night. Fresno winger John Wroblewski's goal 2:50 into the third period lifted the Falcon's over Las Vegas for the fifth straight time. Falcons Derek Krestanovich and Simon Mangos also scored, extending the Wranglers winless streak to six games (0-5-1). Las Vegas forwards Chris Stanley and Darren Lynch each scored for the Wranglers, who extended a team-record losing streak to five games. Fresno goalie Brett Jaeger made 31 saves in the win for Fresno.

Long Beach Ice Dogs â (33-14-5, 71 Points) â The Ice Dogs are 5-0-1 against Las Vegas this year. Long Beach finished with 23 wins all of last season. The Dogs went 2-7-0 against Las Vegas last year. Former Wranglers winger Chris Kenady leads the Dogs with 27 goals scored and is second in team scoring with 50 points. Kenady is second in the ECHL for goals scored and second with seven game-winning goals. Goalie Chris Madden is 19-5-2 with a 2.14 goals against average and a .941 save percentage. Madden is tied for the league lead with five shutouts. Madden has given up nine goals in his last two starts going 0-1-1. Center Evan Cheverie leads the Ice Dogs in scoring with 19 goals and 33 assists for 52 points in 52 games played. Long Beach has a 16-7-2 record at home this season. The Ice Dogs have the second highest point total (71) and winning percentage (.683) in the ECHL. Long Beach is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games played.
Victoria Salmon Kings â (9-36-5, 23 Points) â The Salmon Kings are winless in their last three games and 2-8-0 in their last 10 games played. Victoria is 6-18-2 at home this season. Right wing Ryan Wade leads the team in scoring with 31 points (12G-19A). Left wing Rob Voltera has a team-high 15 goals. Victoria leads the ECHL with 1,471 penalty minutes and an average of 29.40 minutes per game. Victoria will be without defensemen Dale Purinton, Jim Gattoliat and Dennis Mullen who will be serving a suspension for participating in a bench-clearing brawl last week against Fresno.
