BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors had another successful jersey auction Saturday, January 27th, raising $21,450 for the Petroleum Shrine Club through bids on the team's game-worn Super Bowl jerseys.

The auction followed the team's home game against Victoria. During the game, the Condors wore jerseys that recognized Bakersfield's Pigskin tradition and the Super Bowl. The jerseys had depictions of local football heroes who made an impact in the NFL. These players included Houston Texans QB David Carr, former NY Giants RB Frank Gifford, former Cowboys and Dolphins DB Brock Marion, former Minnesota Vikings RB Brent McClanahan, New England Patriots G Steven Neal, Pittsburgh Steelers LB Joey Porter and former Minnesota Vikings LB Jeff Siemon. All of the players played in the Super Bowl with the exception of Carr.

"The Petroleum Shrine Club is very grateful to the Condors for assisting us in helping children in our community," said Petroleum Shrine Club Secretary of Treasurer Charlie Barfield. "As a result of their help we have bought various items for the Shriner's hospital including examination tables that look like animals for kids. The Condors support is profound and can be seen on the walls at the Shriner's hopsital in Los Angeles in the form of plaques in recognition of the "Million Dollar Fund."

Condors' left wing Brett Lutes' jersey brought in the biggest bid, selling for $1,550.

The Condors next jersey raffle and auction will take place on Saturday, March 17th, when they wear St. Patrick's Day jerseys.

The Condors next game is on Wednesday, January 31st, when they host the Las Vegas Wranglers. Doors open at 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Season tickets, mini plans and group outings are available at the Condors office located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue or by calling 324-PUCK (7825).
