Titans get Ortmeyer from Roadrunners

TRENTON, NJ (January 29, 2007) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have acquired defenseman Jake Ortmeyer from the Phoenix Roadrunners in exchange for defenseman Chris Cava.

Ortmeyer, 29, collected 8 goals, 12 assists and 65 penalty minutes in 38 games this season with the Roadrunners. He joins the Titans for his second stint, as the 6-3, 210-pound blueliner appeared in three games with Trenton during his rookie season in 2002-03. The native of Omaha, NE was also a member of the 2003-04 Wheeling Nailers' North Division Champion squad, with whom he contributed 34 points (12g, 22a) in 72 games and was second in the ECHL with a +36 plus/minus rating.

Ortmeyer has compiled 45 goals, 86 assists and 394 penalty minutes in 323 professional games. He also played four years of collegiate hockey for Miami University (OH) from 1998 to 2002.

Cava had 10 points (1g, 9a) and 104 PIM in 32 games for the Titans this season.
