Schell of Gwinnett for the second-longest point streak in the ECHL this
season.
The longest scoring streak in the league this year is 16 games by Kevin
Baker of Texas, who had 28 points (16g-12a) from Oct. 20-Nov. 28.

in all 10 games he has played (5g-18a) giving him a point in 25 of his last
26 games (13g-42a) and an assist in 21 of his last 22 games.
Schell leads the league with 64 assists and is on pace to break the

player to reach 100 points since Buddy Smith of Arkansas had 104 points and
a league-leading 74 assists in 2002-03.
The assist and scoring leader each of the last two seasons has been
from the Alaska Aces. Scott Gomez had 73 assists and 86 points during the
NHL lockout in 2004-05 and Alex
Leavitt had 65 assists and 91 points a year ago.
Two Points Separates Five Teams In North
Posting back-to-back road wins at Dayton and Reading, Toledo extended
its winning streak to a season-high five games to improve to 21-17-1 and

(19-20-5) with 43 points.
The Storm and Royals are two points behind Trenton (20-14-5) and

In the North Division, berths in the Kelly Cup Playoffs will be awarded
to the first-place team as well as to the next four-best teams, based on
regular-season point totals. The fourth seed and the fifth seed will play a
best-of-three series in the Division Quarterfinals with the winner
advancing to meet the division leader in the Division Semifinals, a
best-of-five series that also had the second seed playing the third seed.
The winners will advance to the best-of-seven Division Finals with the
winner advancing to the American Conference Finals to meet the winner of
the South Division.
Toledo has two shutouts and has outscored its opponents 10-3 in the

Aces Looking To Repeat As Brabham Cup Champions
Sweeping its three-game series with Stockton to improve to 9-1-0 in the
last 10 games, defending Kelly Cup champion Alaska is 28-11-2 and leads the
ECHL with 58 points. The Aces are 17-3-2 in their last 22 games and 22-5-2
since beginning the season 6-6-0.
If Alaska remains in first place they would become the first team in
ECHL history to repeat as the Brabham Cup champion. Alaska was 53-12-7 in
2005-06 and had the second-highest point total in history with 113 points
while tying the record for second-most wins. Alaska became only the second
team in history to win both the regular season point championship and the
postseason championship, joining the South Carolina Stingrays who captured
the Brabham Cup and the Kelly Cup in 1997. The Aces became the first team
to win the postseason by defeating three teams that had 100 points in the
regular season and their 113 points is the highest point total to win the
postseason championship.
The Aces travel to Georgia this week where they will face Gwinnett in a
rematch of the Kelly Cup Finals on Tuesday and Saturday and Augusta on
Friday.
Alaska has the top six plus-minus performers in the league with Matt
Shasby at +29, Vladimir

tied for 11th with 20 goals in 41 games.
In January, Derek
Gustafson is 8-0-0 with a shutout, goals-against average of 1.48 and a
save percentage of .944 while Chris
Beckford-Tseu, who was reassigned to Alaska by the St. Louis Blues, is

three shutouts, goals-against average of 1.72 and a save percentage of
.937.
Overall, Gustafson is 15-7-1 with three shutouts, goals-against average
of 2.45 and a save percentage of .914 while Beckford-Tseu is 6-0-0 with two
