ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces will hold USA National Anthem Singer Auditions on Sunday, February 4th at the Wilda Marston Theatre, located in the Loussac Library. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and auditions begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Aces are looking for 10 to 15 exceptional singers to perform the Star Spangled Banner at Alaska Aces home games in Sullivan Arena. Judges include professional vocalists from the Anchorage area who score contestants on singing ability and presentation.

Applicants should be able to sing the first stanza of the Star Spangled Banner in about 70-seconds. Soloist, duets and quartets are welcomed. Those selected will perform 3-5 times, before an average of 5,000 people per night, during the fall, winter, and spring of the 2007-08 hockey season.

Anthem singers will receive four tickets for each game appearance. There is no age limit for those auditioning. Anyone under 18-years will need a parent or guardian to sign audition applications.

[To be performed in 70-seconds]

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,

O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

O say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
