Player Notes: Adam Edinger recorded his first multi-point game of the season on Friday night with two assists. He added assists on both Saturday and Sunday night as well to extend his point streak to three games. Jordan Cameron picked up two goals and an assist, has a four game point streak and now leads the team with 19 goals.

Team Notes: Wheeling went scoreless on the power play this weekend marking the first time this season they have gone three games without a power-play goal. They have scored a PPG in 30 out of 40 games this year. With the Nailers shootout win on Saturday they have now one their last two and Andy Franck has stopped the last nine shooters he has faced.

Record for week: 2-1-0, 4 points

Record for season: 18-20-1-1, 38 points - Sixth place in Northern Division

Tuesday, January 23 Wheeling @ Dayton

The Nailers game in Dayton on Tuesday was postponed due to mechanical problems with the rink's freezing system. The game will be made up on March 27, 2007 at the Nutter Center in Dayton.

Friday, January 26 Wheeling 4 vs. Cincinnati 2

The Wheeling Nailers opened a big weekend with a win over the first place Cincinnati Cyclones on Friday night. Andy Franck stopped 38 of 40 shots and Eric Sonnenberg notched the game winner before the midway point of the second period. Jon Foster's goal just 51 seconds in gave

the Nailers an early lead. Jon Smyth would double the lead knocking in a pass from Jordan Cameron at the 8:27 mark of the first. The Cyclones would come back and tie it with a pair of goals early in the second but just 1:15 after the equalizer, Sonnenberg tipped a Chris Brooks shot through the legs of Cedrick Desjardins. After 30 minutes of scoreless hockey, Paul Bissonnette sank a full length empty-netter to secure the Nailers win.

Saturday, January 27 Wheeling 3 vs. Trenton 2 SO

Wheeling won its second game in a row with a come-from-behind shootout win Saturday night against the Trenton Titans. In front of a season-high 3,820 fans, the Nailers beat the Titans in exciting fashion. For the second night in a row, Wheeling scored in the opening minute. This time it was Jordan Cameron from Ryan Moren and Adam Edinger at the 30 second mark of the first. Trenton would tie it in the second and take the lead at 12:13 of the third. Wheeling responded 31 seconds later with the tying mark. Vin Hellemeyer banged home a rebound after Paul Bissonette and Jon Smyth crashed the net. In the shootout, Hellemeyer beat Joel Martin on the Nailers second attempt. With Franck stopping the first four shooters, Joe Guenther clinched the win by sliding the puck through the legs of Martin.

Sunday, January 28 Wheeling 3 vs. Augusta 6

The final out of division game on the Wheeling Nailers schedule ended in a loss at the hands of the Augusta Lynx. Another early goal gave the Nailers a 1-0 lead with Grant McNeill scoring just 76 seconds in. Augusta would respond with two goals before the end of the period, including a shorthanded marker. With the Lynx up 3-1 Jordan Cameron and Sean Collins scored to even the game at three but Brian Passmore's goal at 18:17 would go down as the game winner. Aaron Slattengren scored both goals in the third period to increase the lead to three.

Friday, February 2 Wheeling @ Dayton 7:00p.m.

Wheeling heads to Dayton, OH for just the second time this season to take on the Bombers. The Nailers are 1-3-0 against Dayton and 0-1-0 at the Nutter Center.

Saturday, February 3 Wheeling vs. Cincinnati 8:00p.m.

The Nailers welcome the Cincinnati Cyclones to Wheeling on Saturday night. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Nailers T-shirt.
