STORM NOTES

- Streaking! With Sunday's 5-2 win, Toledo has won four in a row for the first time this season. The Storm is 10-2-1 in its last 13 games, and has climbed to a season high 9 games above .500. Sunday's win is also the 23rd of the season for the Storm. That matches the win total for the entire 2003-04 season. That team did not win its 23rd game until March 19th.

- Home Cooking! Since a 5-6-0 start at the Sports Arena, Toledo is unbeaten in regulation 8-0-1 on the home ice.

- Dog Days? January has finished as Toledo's best month of the season (10-3-1).

- One Goal No Problem! Friday night Toledo defeated Reading 1-0 for it's second 1-0 win this season (1-0 over Wheeling 10/22/04). Toledo is also 13-4-4 in one goal games this season. The 13 wins are second most in the ECHL (Wheeling and Charlotte each have 15).

- Toledo is 13-6-1 at home and 10-8-3 on the road this year.

- Toledo's power play unit ranks 22ND in the ECHL, with 27 power play goals in 183 chances (14.8%).

- The penalty kill unit of Toledo has allowed just 23 goals in 174 chances against this season (86.8%). That is 5th in the ECHL.

STORM WATCH

- Tuesday night marks the return of the Toledo Storm Coach's Show. Head Coach Nick Vitucci will join the voice of the Storm Matt Melzak from 6-7pm live at the Bronze Boar. This week's guest is Storm forward Noah Whyte.

- Toledo returns to the ice Wednesday night against the San Diego Gulls. Toledo won the first meeting 5-2 Sunday with 5 different goal scorers. This will be the final meeting of the year between the two.

- Friday night it's off to Trenton for the first of three road matches with the Titans in the month of February. Toledo has yet to defeat Trenton this season. The titans have outscored the Storm 15-6 in the three prior contests. Sam Paolini has 5 points (3-2) against the Titans this season.

- Saturday night Toledo hits Reading for the second time this year. Toledo is 2-2-0 against the Royals this season. The Storm won the last meeting 1-0 Friday night. Scooter Smith has a pair of assists in his two games against Reading.

STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:

Scooter Smith (2 goals - 2 assists = 4 points)

Scooter assisted on the game-winning goal Friday night. On Saturday he sent the Peoria crowd home with the empty net goal in a 5-3 win. Sunday, Scooter added a goal and a assist.

STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:

Scott Fankhouser (2-0-0, 2GA & 43SV & 1 Shutout)

Scott blanked Reading Friday night for his third shutout on the season. Scott is third among active goaltenders in the ECHL in wins with 17. He is also third in goals against average at 2.14.
