Augusta Lynx News Release
The weekend was not kind to the Augusta Lynx as they lost the only two games they played following the All-Star break, dropping decisions of 4-1 and 5-1 to the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Friday and Saturday night.
Friday night, Sean Connolly scored in his third consecutive game to notch Augusta's only marker in a 4-1 loss. Ryan O'Keefe, Aaron Phillips, Bill Kinkel, and Alex Materukhin scored for Pensacola to earn the win. Saturday night, Phillips dropped a first period hat trick on the Lynx while Tyler Beechey added a goal and three assists in the opening frame en route to a 5-1 win over Augusta. Matt Dzieduszycki scored the only goal of the game for the Lynx.
Magowan, Callahan Return From All-Star Stint
Ken Magowan represented the Augusta Lynx on the ice and Lynx Director of Broadcasting and Public Relations Tom Callahan was part of the radio broadcast team as the National Conference All-Stars defeated the American Conference All-Stars 6-2 at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game.
Magowan, who is under contract to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, recorded a regular shift in the game but did not score any points. He also participated in the Skills Competition on Tuesday night, recording a high shot speed of 90.5 mph. Toledo's Dan Eberly won the competition with a 97.4 mph blast.
Callahan was part of the broadcast team that covered the game, seeing action as roving reporter in the first period, handling play-by-play of the second period, and color duties during the final frame.
