January 31, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that forward and captain Luke Curtin has been loaned to San Antonio of the American Hockey League. This is Curtin's first stint in the AHL this season.
Curtin, 27, leads the Bullies and is 10th in the ECHL scoring race with 9 goals and 40 points. The Roseville, MN native is fifth in the ECHL with 31 assists and third overall with 14 power play assists. Curtin was selected as a starter and team captain to the 2005 National Conference All-Star team and helped lead the National Conference to a 6-2 victory over the American Conference at the 13th annual Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game this past Wednesday in Reading. He played in his 400th professional game and recorded his 400th career point earlier this season.
Curtin has had seven previous stints in both the AHL and the defunct International Hockey League over his eight-year professional career. Most recently, he tallied a goal and six points in 10 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the end of the 2003-04 season. Curtin's best professional season came last year in Atlantic City when he set career bests in goals (33), assists (45), and points and finished first or tied for first on the Bullies in eight different offensive categories. For his efforts, he was selected to the 2003-04 All-ECHL First Team.
Curtin joins defenseman Brian Fahey in Worcester and goaltender Adam Munro in Norfolk as current Bullies in the AHL.
The Bullies host the Peoria Rivermen at 7:05PM on Wednesday at Historic Boardwalk Hall. Every Wednesday home game is a "Wild Wednesday" presented by Coors Light. All college students, casino workers, military, and service industry personnel get in the gates for just $6. Enjoy great Coors Light all night for just $2.
