Texas Wildcatters News Release
Beaumont, TX (January 31, 2005)â The Texas Wildcatters, an affiliate of the Florida Panthers (NHL) and San Antonio Rampage (AHL), went 0-1-1 against the Greenville Grrrowl last weekend.
On Friday, the Wildcatters fell behind early in the game and were never able to claw their way back. John Snowden scored his team leading 15th goal of the season in a 6-1 loss at home. Texas goalie Phil Osaer faced a total 31 shots and turned aside 25.
On Saturday, the âCatters jumped out to the lead against the Grrrowl on Rob Globke's first goal with the team at the 17:53 mark of the first period. It took Greenville over two periods to score because of the outstanding play of Davis Parley, who made his first start in five âCatters games.
The Grrrowl were able to solve Parley at the 3:36 mark of the third period when Colin Pepperall scored his 15th of the year. Overtime would solve nothing and the two teams headed to the shootout. Alex Kojevnikov of the Grrrowl was the only player to score in the shootout for the Grrrowl victory.
The Wildcatters head to Biloxi to face-off against the Mississippi Sea Wolves Tuesday and then return home for weekend games against Louisiana and a second match-up this week against the Sea Wolves. Fans can catch all the action on ESPN Radio 1450 the Ticket.
