Storm Chasers Drop Thursday Game to Mud Hens

PAPILLION, Neb. - Second baseman Lucius Fox hit his first Triple-A home run, but Omaha fell to Toledo, 5-3, on Thursday at Werner Park. Omaha (59-46) now trails Toledo (61-44) by 2.0 games in the Triple-A East Midwest Division standings.

The Mud Hens loaded the bases in the top of the first inning against left-hander Marcelo Martinez (Loss, 3-6), and scored the game's first run when Aderlin Rodriguez singled to left and brought home Riley Greene.

Fox tied the game in the bottom of the first inning with his first Triple-A homer, sending a 3-1 pitch from Pedro Payano (Win, 4-5) down the left-field line. Omaha took the lead later in the inning, when centerfielder Erick Mejia singled through the right side to drive in first baseman Nick Pratto. Pratto finished the game with three walks, and has now drawn six walks in his last three games.

Toledo took the lead for good in the top of the fourth inning, when Martinez yielded a pair of two-run homers to Daz Cameron and Isaac Paredes.

Omaha scored it's only other of the game in the fifth, when catcher MJ Melendez drove in Pratto with a single to right field.

Right-hander Jake Newberry, right-hander Collin Snider, and right-hander Scott Blewett held Toledo scoreless on five hits for the final 7.0 innings.

The Storm Chasers continue their series against the Toledo Mud Hens on Friday, when right-hander Ronald Bolaños (0-1, 3.31) faces Toledo right-hander Mark Leiter Jr. (5-3, 4.83). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. and coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. CT with the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone**.**
