Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE, KY - Narciso Crook drove home two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to bring the Louisville Bats within one run, but he Nashville Sounds retired the side in order in the ninth to slam the door and preserve their 5-4 win over the Bats Friday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Trialing 5-1 in the sixth, the Bats began a comeback when Mike Freeman bounced a ball back to second to bring home TJ Friedl and pull Louisville within 5-2.

Following a scoreless seventh and eight from the Sounds, Crook capitalized on a first-and-third situation with a liner to the right-field wall. Jose Barrero crossed home safely easily on the play and Alfredo Rodriguez raced all the way from first base through home plate on the play to cut the Bats' deficit to just one run at 5-4.

The rally ultimately stalled, however, as Sounds reliver Luke Barker struck out the side to pick up his ninth save - the third-most in Triple-A East - and seal Nashville's victory.

Dustin Peterson and David Dahl homered for Nashville. Starter Colin Rae went 5.1 innings to earn the win.
