Four-Run 9th downs IronPigs

(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (47-56) four-game winning streak was snapped on Friday night as the Syracuse Mets (40-62) won 7-3. The Mets scored four runs against Zach McAllister (1-1) in the top of the ninth inning.

Syracuse scored three runs against Cristopher Sanchez in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. Jose Martinez hit an RBI single that scored Jose Peraza and Mark Payton scored on a groundball double play. Wilfredo Tovar hit an RBI double to score Martinez for the final run of the inning.

Sanchez would settle in as he would pitch four scoreless innings after the three runs allowed in the top of the first inning. Lehigh Valley would tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning against Josh Walker. T.J. Rivera hit a two-run double that scored Cornelius Randolph and Mickey Moniak then Tyler Heineman followed up with an RBI double to score Rivera.

Austin Ross pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. He issued two walks and struck out four batters. Damon Jones pitched 2/3 scoreless of an inning in relief.

Franklyn Kilome (3-2) earned the win by pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

The Pigs and Mets will play a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon starting at 4:35 p.m.
