Toledo Walleye News Release

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today its schedule for the 2006-07 season. The full text of which, as well as a separate breakdown by variables, follows this release.

Toledo will open its sixteenth season at home on October 20th against its archrival the Dayton Bombers. This will be the ninth consecutive season that the Storm will open at home. It will also mark the first of twelve meetings between the longtime rivals, the most Toledo will play against any team. Toledo and Wheeling played a terrific five game series in the 06 playoffs and will meet a total of 11 times this season. The 2006-07 campaign will also see the Storm battle division foes the Cincinnati Cyclones, Johnstown Chiefs, Reading Royals, and the Trenton Titans ten times apiece. Not only does Toledo start the season at home with a flurry (7 of first 8), but they also finish it at home (4 of last 5) as well.

On November 3rd, the Florida Everblades will invade the Sports Arena in the first-ever regular season meeting (Toledo played two preseason games in Florida prior to last year). Also making their first appearance at One Main Street this season is the Columbia Inferno on February 16th and 17th. Toledo has met the Inferno twice previously, winning both times in Columbia. The Storm have just 3 home games in the month of February as they travel west to meet Las Vegas for three games and one in Bakersfield. Following the games against the Inferno, the Storm will head south to play the Augusta Lynx and the Charlotte Checkers.
