Fresno to battle National Conference rival Las Vegas Wranglers

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced today the schedule for the 2006-2007 season. The Falcons' 72-game schedule begins opening weekend, when they host the Las Vegas Wranglers at Save Mart Center on Fri.

Head Coach Matt Thomas and the Falcons will look for a fast start to defend the Pacific Division Title as 10 of their first 16 games are on home ice.

Ten different ECHL teams will visit Fresno for the Falcons' 36 home games. Las Vegas and Victoria, with five visits apiece, are the most frequent visitors. Phoenix, Utah, Idaho and Bakersfield all make four visits. Fresno will welcome one eastern team this season, as the Cincinnati Cyclones visit Fresno for a pair of games on February 27 and March 4.

The Falcons' home schedule is heavy on weekend on dates, as 29 of the 36 games will take place on weekend dates (Friday - 14, Saturday - 9, and Sunday - 6). Fresno hosts four Tuesday games, two Wednesday game, and one Monday game, a President's Day matinee, February 19, against Bakersfield.
