Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (July 17, 2006) - The ECHL announced on Monday the Trenton Titans' schedule for the 2006-07 regular season.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Titans will begin their regular season on their home ice at the Sovereign Bank Arena when they face off against North Division-rival the Reading Royals on Friday, October 20 at 7:30pm.

Trenton's home opener will be the first game of twelve against Reading this season and one of sixty-six versus division opponents in 2006-07. The Titans will also battle the Johnstown Chiefs in twelve contests this season, while taking on the Dayton Bombers and Wheeling Nailers eleven times each. Trenton will welcome the Cincinnati Cyclones back to the ice and North Division with ten matches and also collide with Toledo Storm for the same amount.

The Titans will hit the ice for four games against South Division squads as they clash with the Augusta Lynx twice (1 home, 1 away) and the Charlotte Checkers and Columbia Inferno one time each on the road.

Trenton fans will get a taste of the West once again this year as the Bakersfield Condors visit the Titans on Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9.

The Titans will enjoy six stretches of three or more consecutive games at SBA including three season-high four-game home stands. Trenton, however, will have to hit the road for two six-game trips spanning December 30 - January 10 and January 31 - February 10.

Their home schedule has the Titans playing eleven games on Friday and twelve on Saturday. Game time on Fridays is 7:30pm and 4:00pm on Sunday. All other games begin at 7:00pm, with the exception of Saturday, March 10 versus Toledo (12:00pm) and the Titans' Education Day Game on Thursday, April 5 at 11:00am against the Reading Royals. All game times are subject to change.

The ECHL, with the Texas Wildcatters also returning to the ice in 2006-07, will play 900 games, beginning Oct. 20 and ending Apr. 7, with 25 teams in 16 states and British Columbia.

The division and conference alignments and the format for the 2007 Kelly Cup Playoffs will be announced following the Preseason Board of Governors Meeting in September.

The ECHL raised its average attendance for the third straight year in 2005-06 drawing 3,934,794 for 900 games which is an average of 4,372 per game, an increase of more than nine percent from 2004-05 and the largest per-game average since 1999-2000. Six teams surpassed 200,000 and nine teams averaged 5,000 per game for the first time since 1999-2000 as the league welcomed 39 sellout crowds and 13 of the 22 returning teams raised their average attendance from a year ago.

The ECHL takes its annual midseason break in January for the Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 17 and Rbk Hockey Skills Competition on Jan. 16 hosted by the Steelheads at Qwest Arena.
