The Week That Was...
The South Carolina Stingrays closed a season-opening three-game road trip and celebrated Opening Night at the North Charleston Coliseum earning a week record of 0-2-0-0 and an overall standing of 1-3-0-0.
The Stingrays battled the Greenville Road Warriors for the first time in the 2014-15 season on Friday night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina with the Road Warriors taking a 3-0 victory. Goaltender Adam Morrison made 29 saves for the Stingrays.
On Saturday, the Stingrays hosted the Wheeling Nailers on Opening Night and a rematch of the opening round of the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs at Coliseum. Forward Andrew Rowe brought 5, 512 fans to their feet with a first-period goal, but the Nailers prevailed for a 5-1 win. The loss snapped an eight-year Opening Night winning streak for the Stingrays.
