Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans opened their 6th season of professional hockey last Friday night at home against the Tulsa Oilers, falling to their neighbors from the north 9-6, and it began their first season as a proud member of the ECHL.

Friday, October 24th vs. Tulsa, 9-6 Loss
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans and Tulsa Oilers combined for 75 shots and 15 goals, as Tulsa won a wild 9-6 affair Friday night at Allen Event Center. T.J. Caig and Nathan Lutz had two goals each for Tulsa, while Greger Hanson, playing in his first game since being traded to Allen from Cincinnati, netted a hat trick. Allen went 3 for 5 on the power play while Tulsa was 2 for 4.
Saturday, October 25th@ Wichita, 5-3 Win
Wichita, Kansas - The Americans outscored the Thunder 3-2 in the second period, and 2-0 in the third, as Allen won their first game as a member of the ECHL, 5-3 on Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena. Gary Steffes, Chad Costello, Brian McMillin and Greger Hanson each had two-point nights for the Americans, who evened their record at 1-1-0, out-shooting Wichita 27-22.
