Forward Wayne Simpson gave the Stingrays a 2-0 lead at 7:39 of the middle stanza redirecting a feed from forward Andrew Rowe between the legs of Lee. MacKenzie added the second assist. Forward Caleb Herbert sent the Stingrays into the intermission with a three-goal advantage with his 17th goal of the season at 14:26 from forward Patrick Gaul and defenseman Wade Epp.

In the third period, the Stingrays sealed the victory as forward Rob Ricci knocked a rebound past Lee at 16:37 with help from defenseman Marcus Perrier. Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (W, 19 saves on 19 shots) earned his fourth shutout of the season, tying the ECHL season-high. Both teams finished the game 0-for-4 on the power play.
