HEAD TO HEAD - This is the 10th meeting against the Oilers this season. Wichita is 131-106-22 all-time against Tulsa, and 58-60-11 on the road.
TODAY - Wichita is in the middle of a seven-game road swing and plays at the BOK Center for the final time this season. The Thunder are coming off of a 5-2 victory on Monday night against Brampton while the Oilers shut down the Quad City Mallards on March 4th by the final of 2-0. Tulsa returns home for the first time in 27 days and after an eight-game road trip. The Oilers host Wichita tonight and follows that up with two meetings against the Brampton Beast on Saturday and Sunday. Tulsa was off last weekend, dropping from third place to fifth place. Wichita leads the Oilers by four points in third place and three points back of Quad City for second with three games in hand. Rapid City is in fourth with 63 points.
SEVEN - Wichita got off to a good start during its seven-game road swing last weekend, taking five out of a possible six points with the only blemish being a shootout loss on Sunday afternoon. The Thunder improved to 4-1-0-1 against Brampton with just one more meeting between the two teams at the beginning of April.
FRIENDS IN LOWE PLACES - Ian Lowe leads the Thunder against Tulsa this season, racking up nine points (3g, 6a) through the first nine matchups. He started out the month on a three-game point streak and is looking to get back into the stat column after missing it in the last two games. The Bradwardine, MB native is tied for 14th in the league in assists and needs seven points to reach is career-high.
NEW ADDITION - Grant Rollheiser has made the most of his playing time so far, going 2-0-0-1 with a 2.18 GAA and a .908 save percentage. He started against his former team on Friday night, was forced into action on Sunday afternoon and won this past Monday against the Beast by the final of 5-2.
RETURNING TO FORM - Nikita Kashirsky is riding a nine-game point streak, extending it with a goal on Monday night (6g, 6a) and two multi-point games in the three-game series in Brampton. Kashirsky has scored in all but two contests since the start of February, racking up 15 points (6g, 9a).
POWER AND LIGHT - Wichita went 2-for-3 on Monday night on the power play. The Thunder has found the back of the net on the man advantage in six of the last seven games and recorded two or more in four of those meetings. Wichita has gone 11-for-31, operating at 35.5%.
ALL OVER THE MAP - Tulsa is coming off an eight-game road trip that spanned three weeks and more than 6,000 miles. The Oilers went 6-2-0 over that span. Drew Fisher led the Oilers with 13 points over that span, recording a goal and 12 assists. Fisher has 10 points this season (1g, 10a) against the Thunder along with Jon Booras (5g, 5a) to lead the way for Tulsa against Wichita.
THUNDERBOLTS... Danick Gauthier and Ian Lowe are tied for second in the league in power play goals (9)...Lowe is in 11th place for shots on goal (183) while Gauthier is in 15th (178)...Mike Wilson is tied for fourth for power play assists (15) while Gauthier is tied for seventh (14) ...Tim Boron is fourth in the league in minutes played (2,227), 10th in saves (888), tied for sixth in wins (20)...Wichita is third in shots against per game (27.47)...Wichita is 10-2-0-1 when leading after one...Wichita is 13-10-0-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 15-5-2-6 in one-goal games...
