INDIANAPOLIS - In the tenth of ten head-to-head meetings between the two teams this season, the Indy Fuel took advantage of a 21-save shutout from Mac Carruth to defeat the Evansville IceMen on Friday at Indiana Farmers Coliseum by a final score of 3-0. With the win, the Fuel improved to 25-25-4-4 overall this season and with 58 points, pulled into a tie for fifth place in the ECHL's North Division standings.

After a mostly scoreless opening frame, Matt White made it 1-0 Fuel at 18:43 of the first at even-strength on a left-circle wrister, set up by Nick Jones and Rhett Bly. In the second period, a Pete Massar power-play score at 4:12 made it 2-0 Fuel on feeds from Jamie Wise and Nick Bruneteau before Nicklas Lindberg wired his sixth of the season past Evansville goaltender Chris Driedger at 8:59 from Garett Bembridge and Justin Holl. Lindberg's marker pushed the Indy advantage to 3-0.

After a scoreless third period, Carruth skated away with his third shutout of the season for the Fuel as Driedger, the ECHL's leader in regulation losses, suffered his 26th defeat of the season despite 30 saves in net for Evansville. Indy's Friday victory pushed the Fuel's head-to-head record vs. the IceMen to 8-1-1-0 at the conclusion of the two rivals' season-series.
