THUNDER ROLLS IN

The Oilers and Thunder clash for the tenth time this season as they continue to battle for the StoneWolf Casino Cup. Tulsa is 7-2-0 against Wichita including a mark of 5-1-0 at the BOK Center. The long-time rivals are separated by just four points in the Central Division playoff hunt and will face off five times during the final month of the regular season. The Oilers hold a 34-26 advantage in goals scored in the series with the Thunder and six of the previous nine meetings have been decided by a single goal.

ROAD TRIP RECAP

The Oilers went 6-2-0 on their season-long, eight-game road trip which spanned three weeks and more than 6,000 miles. The trek included visits to every Central Division opponent and a season-high, five-game win streak. In the eight games away from home, the Oilers outscored the opposition 33-24, recorded a pair of shutouts, and were led by winger Drew Fisher who put up 13 points (1 goal, 12 assists).

HOMECOMING

The Oilers are back on home ice at the BOK Center for the first time in 27 days. Tonight's pivotal Central Division match-up will be the first of three home games in three days for the Oilers. Saturday at 7:35 p.m., the Oilers battle the Brampton Beast and will honor America's brave veterans and military personnel with special patriotic jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation. The weekend concludes Sunday at 4:05 p.m. and the Oilers will finish off their season series with the Beast.

SITTING IDLY BY

For the first and only time all season, the Oilers went a full weekend without playing a game. The Oilers entered last weekend in third place in the Central Division but had dropped to fifth by the end of the weekend thanks to wins by Wichita and Rapid City. Tulsa sits three points behind Rapid City for the fourth and final playoff spot with 15 games remaining.

UPS AND DOWNS ON DEFENSE

After allowing 17 goals in their previous three games (5.6 per game average), the Oilers put together one of their best defensive performances of the season in las Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Mallards. Tulsa was perfect on the penalty kill (4-for-4) for just the third time in its last 15 games and Kevin Carr, who ranks third in the ECHL in total saves, registered his third clean sheet in his last 14 starts.

THE STABLE STAT

The Oilers have been one of the top scoring teams in the ECHL throughout the season and the trend continued over the course of the recent road swing. In the last eight games, Tulsa found the back of the net more than four times per contest and has risen to sixth in the league in goals per game (3.51).

RELIABLE ROOKIE

Jeff Jubinville is on a six-game point streak and has scored a goal in three of his last four outings. The Bemidji State product is second on the Oilers squad at +19 and leads all ECHL rookies in the same category. Jubinville has 12 multi-point games to his credit and with only 20 penalty minutes next to his name for the season, the 24-year old is the least penalized player on the Tulsa roster.

OIL DROPS

Kevin Carr has played in 40 games this season, tied for second most appearances in the ECHL...Tommy Mele, the Oilers leader in penalty minutes, has only recorded four penalty minutes in the last five games...Tonight, the Oilers will attempt to snap a three-game home losing streak.
