
Stingrays Fly Past Road Warriors 5-0

Greenville, S.C. - Forward Wayne Simpson recorded his second-straight three-point game (one goal, two assists) and goaltender Adam Morrison stopped all 21 shots for his second shutout of the season to guide the South Carolina Stingrays (16-10-1-4) over the Greenville Road Warriors (19-11-0-1) 5-0 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena Tuesday night. The win sends the Stingrays' point streak to eight contests (7-0-1-0) and are unbeaten in 13 of their last 14 games (12-1-1-0).
Forward Braden Pimm put the Stingrays on the scoreboard with his team-leading 10 goal of the season at 10:50 of the opening period knocking a pass from forward Derek DeBlois past Road Warriors goaltender Jeff Malcolm (L, 26 saves on 31 shots).
In the second period, forward Caleb Herbert gave the Stingrays a two-goal advantage at 11:57 with help from Simpson and defenseman Scott Ford.
The Stingrays added three more goals in the third period to complete the rout. Forward and former Road Warrior Brandon Hynes slipped in his fifth goal of the season from DeBlois at 8:22. Just over a minute later, Simpson registered his ninth marker of the season sneaking a shot past Malcolm from the right circle at 9:24. Herbert and defenseman Wade Epp picked up assists. Forward Cody Sylvester wrapped the up the scoring at 17:31 knocking in a rebound from Simpson. Both sides finished 0-for-2 on the power play.
