The Missouri Mavericks (13-12-1-2, 29 points) came from behind on Tuesday night to earn a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Wichita Thunder (14-10-1-4, 33 points) at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Kansas. The Mavs trailed 2-0 heading into the game's final six minutes before Sebastien Thinel scored a pair of goals just 2:45 apart to tie the game and force extra time. Missouri improves to 3-10-1 on the season when trailing after two periods and are now 3-3 in games decided in overtime or a shootout.
After a scoreless first 37 minutes, Wichita took the lead at the 17:37 mark of the middle period when Danick Gauthier scored his team-leading 14th goal of the season.
