TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (15-10-2-4) play the first of a two-game set on the road against the Stockton Thunder (13-17-0-1). This is the third meeting of the season between the two clubs, with Ontario taking both games against Stockton in the month of November. This back-to-back series will also be the final time the Reign play the Thunder this season at Stockton Arena, as all remaining games will be played in Ontario.
COUTURE SET TO ECLIPSE TWO MARKS:
Reign captain Derek Couture's goal on Friday gave him 80 career goals in an Ontario uniform; he is now four goals away from setting the new club record, currently held by Kyle Kraemer (83). His assist on Saturday also gives him 89 career helpers with the Reign; he is two away from passing former captain David Walker (90) for second all-time on the club's assist list.
WHITE POISED TO HIT CENTURY MARK:
Second-year forward Matt White is one game away from playing in his 100th game in a Reign uniform. The Whittier, Calif. native led the team in scoring with 57 points in 71 games during his rookie season in 2013-14, and has been a consistent presence in the lineup, missing only three games in his time with Ontario due to playing overseas.
ADJUSTMENTS CONTINUE FOR BLUELINE:
A little over a week after returning from St. John's, rookie defenseman Ralfs Freibergs has departed the Reign again, after being summoned on Monday from the IceCaps, leaving Ontario with only three healthy natural defensemen.
