The Week Ahead:

Tuesday, November 11, Vs Mississippi – 7:05 @ North Charleston Coliseum

Radio: CNN Radio 1450 & Stingrayshockey.com. Air Time: 7:00

This is the first of two home games on the week with Mississippi. The Stingrays lost to the Sea Wolves in overtime last season in Biloxi. South Carolina has an all-time mark of 6-3-2 against the Sea Wolves.

At the Coliseum: Hooters Two For Tuesday!

Friday, November 14, Vs Gwinnett - 7:35 @ Arena at Gwinnett Center

This is the first ever meeting between these two teams. Gwinnett is formerly the Mobile, AL franchise. The Stingrays were 9-2-3 against Mobile;

The Sea Wolves advanced as far as the Southern Conference finals last season before losing to Columbia.

Sunday, November 16, Vs Roanoke – 4:00 @ Roanoke Civic Center

This is the first meeting of the season for these two teams. The Stingray have an all-time mark of 17-11-6 against the Express.

The Week That Was:

Monday, November 3, Stingrays 3 @ Columbia 2

Curtis Huppe had a goal and an assist as the Stingrays beat Columbia for the first time this season. Marty Clapton scored the game winner in the second period on the power play.

Friday, November 7, Stingrays 3 Vs Columbus 0

David Brumby had a 19 save shutout and Dave Seitz scored the game winner in the first period. It was the second shutout of the year for the Stingrays.

Saturday, November 8, Stingrays 2 Vs Charlotte 3

The Checkers scored three unanswered goals to snap a two game winning streak for the Rays. Ed Courtenay netted his third goal of the year in the loss.

The Team:

South Carolina has a record of 5-4 on the season which is good enough for fifth place in the Southern Division. The Stingray are 3-3 at home and 2-1 on the road. The team already has two shut outs this season, both at home. The Stingrays average just 2.22 goals against per game, which ranks fourth in the ECHL. Offensively the Rays manage 2.56 goals per game which ranks 23rd. The Stingrays have

Struggled on special teams this season, with a power play ranked 23rd at 14.3% and a penalty kill ranked 14th at 83%.

The Players:

Both Stingrays netminders have great numbers to start the season. Kirk Daubenspeck has a record of 4-3 with a goals against average of 2.30, while David Brumby is 1-1 with a GAA of 2.03. Curtis Huppe leads the Stingrays in goals with four. Dave Seitz leads the Stingrays in points with nine. Brent Henley picked up his first goal of the season on Saturday night; he leads the Stingrays with 56 penalty minutes.
