Bombers Look toward Clashes against Rival Peoria
November 10, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Dayton Bombers News Release
The Dayton Bombers went 0-1 in their only game this past weekend during light ECHL action. The Bombers' schedule will pick up, however, with nine games in fifteen days, beginning this Friday with the first of two straight games against longtime divisional foe Peoria. Below is a recap of this past weekend's tilt:
11/10/03- BOMBERS 1 @ Wheeling 9
Despite forward Jason Deskins' seventh goal in seven games, the Dayton Bombers fell to the Wheeling Nailers, 9-1, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia Sunday night. The loss snapped the Bombers' three-game winning streak (3-4-0). Deskins gave the Bombers a 1-0 lead at the 10:26 mark of the first period when his shot trickled past Wheeling goalie Tyler MacKay. But the Nailers quickly responded, getting goals by Chris McNamara, Brendan Hodge, and Mike Lephart before period's end. J.F. Dufour, Lephart, and Steve Crampton added goals during a second period in which the Nailers outshot the Bombers 15-4. Hodge, Arpad Mihaly, and Dufour added third period scores for the Nailers.
