Toledo Walleye News Release
- The Toledo Storm finished the week at 0-2-0, which leaves them with an overall record of 4-5-1. Toledo is seventh in the Northern Division.
- Scott Horvath scored his first goal of the season on Friday night in Johnstown. He beat former NHL all-star goaltender Arturs Irbe for the goal.
- Trevor Read also netted his first goal of the season on Saturday v. Wheeling. His goal gave the Storm a lead at 2-1.
- Morten Ask (4-3-7) and Nick Parillo (2-5-7) are tied for the team lead with 7 points apiece.
- Toledo's power play continues to struggle, now just 5 for 56 on the season.
- Toledo's Penalty kill is now 18th in the ECHL killing off 44 of the 54 times shorthanded.
- Wes Mason leads the Storm in goals with 5. Morten Ask is second after scoring his 4th on Saturday.
- Nick Parillo converted his 5th assist on Saturday night, which leads the Storm in that category. Chris Page and Joey Sewell each have 4 assists.
- Toledo is 2-2-1 on the road this year.
- Toledo is 2-3-0 at home this season.
- Toledo is on the road this week for 3 games. Wednesday night the team will play in Trenton, then it's off to Reading for a game Friday night and then back to Trenton for a game on Saturday night.
- The Coaches Show will not air this week with the team in Trenton. It will return next Tuesday night at 8pm live at the Downtown Frickers.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Morten Ask (1 goal - 0 assist = 1 point) Morten scored his fourth goal of the season on Saturday night v. Wheeling. It was the fifth power play goal of the season for the Toledo Storm.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Doug Teskey (0-1-0, 3.02 gaa, 0.911 save%) Doug played well Friday night in Johnstown stopping 31 of 34 shots he faced. He was particularly sharp in the first period when the Storm was out shot 14-3, but went to the first intermission tied at 0-0.
