The Johnstown Chiefs (7-3-0; 14 PTS; 3rd Northern div.) got four out of a possible six points last week as they picked up a home win Friday night over Toledo, followed by a win at Trenton. Sunday, the Chiefs suffered a 5-0 loss at Atlantic City. The Chiefs will be busy this week with four games in five nights, including road games Wednesday (Atlantic City), Saturday (Cincinnati) and Sunday (Wheeling). The Chiefs remain in third place in the Northern division trailing first place Atlantic City by two points and second place Wheeling by one point.

GAME #8 (11/7/03) JOHNSTOWN 4 – Toledo 1 Notermann Goal, Two Assists

The Johnstown Chiefs picked up their second win in a row Friday night with a 4-1 win over the visiting Toledo Storm. Jason Notermann led the Chiefs with a goal and two assists. Jay Langager and Brent Kelly each had a goal and an assist. Shawn Mather also scored for the Chiefs. Toledo's lone goal came from Scott Horvath in the 3rd period. Chiefs goaltender Arturs Irbe improved his record to 5-0-0 making 16 saves. Storm goaltender Doug Teskey made 31 saves in the defeat. The Chiefs were 2 for 6 on the power play while Toledo was 0 for 4.

GAME #9 (11/8/03) Johnstown 3 – TRENTON 0 Irbe Shutout (29 saves)

Arturs Irbe made 29 saves for his sixth straight win as the Chiefs rolled over the Trenton Titans 3-0 Saturday night in New Jersey. Dmitri Tarabrin, Dominic Forget and P.L. Courchesne each scored for Johnstown. Both Tarabrin and Courchesne's goals came on the power play. The Chiefs were out shot in the game 29-19.

GAME #10 (11/9/03) ATLANTIC CITY 5 – Johnstown 0

Less than 24 hours after shutting out the Trenton Titans, the Chiefs went to the Jersey Shore and were blanked by the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 5-0, Sunday afternoon at Boardwalk Hall. Arturs Irbe suffered his first loss in a Chiefs uniform despite making 29 saves. Five different Bullies scored in the game. Bullies goaltender Scott Stirling made 25 saves in the contest.

Wednesday night, the Chiefs head back to New Jersey to take on the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (8-3-0; 16 PTS, 1st Northern div.) for the second time this season. The Bullies won the first meeting of the season Sunday, 5-0. Atlantic City is currently is first place in the Northern division leading second place Wheeling by one point and third place Johnstown by two points.

Friday night, the Chiefs and the Wheeling Nailers (7-2-1, 15 PTS; 2nd Northern div.) will face one another for the first of nine games this season. Last year, the Chiefs were 4-4-1 against the Nailers. The Chiefs are 56-57-15 all-time against the Nailers. Wheeling is currently is second place in the Northern division.

Saturday night, the Chiefs will take to the road when they visit the Cincinnati Cyclones (5-6-0, 10 PTS; T-5th Northern div.). This is the second of even games this season between the two teams. The Chiefs defeated the Cyclones 6-1 on October 19th in Johnstown. The Cyclones are currently in a tie for 5th place in the Northern division.

Sunday afternoon, the Chiefs conclude a very busy week with a matinee game at Wheeling. This will be the second of four games between the two teams in the month of November.

CHIEFS NOTES:

 The Chiefs penalty kill is ranked second in the ECHL (93.2%).

 Jeff Sullivan is just 61 PIM away from being the Chiefs all-time PIM leader (906 PIM; 231 games).

 All four of P.L. Courchesne's goals have come on the power play.

 Brent Kelly is tied for the ECHL lead with three game winning goals.

 Through six games, the Chiefs average attendance (2,361) is up +235 over 2002-03.
