Titans Sweep Bullies, Fall to Chiefs

TRENTON, NJ – The Trenton Titans swept their home and home series against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, but were unable to get the puck past Arturs Irbe and the Chiefs on the final game of their three-day, three-game stand.

On Thursday night, the Titans traveled down to Boardwalk Hall to take on their division rival and were able to skate away with a 2-1 win. The following night the Bullies made the trip to Sovereign Bank Arena. The Titans offense exploded in the second period and Andrew Allen once again stellar in net as the Titans took swept the weekend series with a 4-1 win. Saturday evening, Arturs Irbe stopped 29 of 29 shots as the Johnstown Chiefs came away with the 3-0 win.

Trenton will continue their seven-game homestand with four games this week. The Reading Royals come into town Tuesday night for their second meeting this season. The Toledo Storm come to Trenton for two this games week, the first on Wednesday and then returning on Saturday. The Titans finish up the week with a matinee game on Sunday against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

LAST WEEK:

Thursday, November 6 @ Atlantic City – 7:05pm 2-1 Boardwalk Hall

- The second meeting between these two teams. Mathieu Brunelle scored his first goal of the season and Joe Rybar added another as the Titans were able to hold on for a 2-1 victory. Andrew Allen made 29 of 30 saves

Friday, November 7 vs. Atlantic City – 7:30pm 4-1 Carolina Coliseum

- Four different players put the puck in the net as Titans scored thee goals in the second period to take 2 of 2 from the Bullies this weekend. Joe Rybar scored his second goal in two games and Bryce Cockburn tallied a goal and assist. The game featured 64 penalty minutes combined in the second period and 99 for the entire game.

Saturday, November 8 vs. Johnstown – 7:00pm 3-0 Sovereign Bank Arena

- Arturs Irbe stopped all 29 shots managed by the Titans. The Titans were unable to capitalize on 8 man advantages. Steve Hildenbrand and P.L. Courschesne each had a goal and an assist for the Chiefs.

THIS WEEK:

Tuesday, November 11 vs. Reading – 7:00pm Sovereign Bank Arena

- The second meeting between the two teams this season. The Royals took the season opener 6-1 at Sovereign Bank Arena as Jonathan Zion scored the first hat trick of the ECHL season.

Wednesday, November 12 vs. Toldeo – 7:00 pm Sovereign Bank Arena

- The first of two games this week at Sovereign Bank Arena. The Titans are 8-2-2 lifetime against the Storm.

Saturday, November 15 vs. Toledo – 7:00pm Sovereign Bank Arena

- The second of four meetings this season. The Titans beat the Storm 1-0 in their only encounter last season.

Saturday, November 15 vs. Las Vegas – 3:00pm Sovereign Bank Arena

- The third game of a seven-game road trip for the Wranglers. The Titans visit Orleans Arena on Tuesday, February to complete the season series.

ECHL Player of the Week Nominee:

Joe Rybar – Rybar recorded 2G, 1A and was +2 this weekend. His scored the game winner against Atlantic City Thursday night and assisted on the Marty Johnston's game winner Friday night versus the Bullies.

ECHL Goalie of the Week Nominee:

Andre Allen – Allen, once again, had a solid weekend in net, backstopping the Titans to their weekend sweep of the Bullies. Over those two games, Allen saved 59 of 61 shots for a 1.00 GAA and a .967 save percentage

· The Titans have only scored 1 power play goal in their last 21 opportunities.
