Down a Man: Kevin Doell scored the Gladiators second shorthanded goal of the season as he picked up his 4th goal of the season in the Gladiators 4-3 overtime win against the Columbus Cottonmouth. Anthony Aquino has the Gladiators other shorthanded goal this season. In the 4-3 shootout loss to Charlotte on October 25th, he scored shorthanded with 16 seconds left in regulation to send the contest into overtime.
Rolling Along: Gladiators goaltender Adam Munro is unbeaten in his last three starts following a 3-2 win in Florence on Friday night. Munro made 26 saves in the win and improved to 3-1-1 on the season. In five games, he has posted a 2.90 goals against average and a .885 save percentage.
Mixing it Up: When recording more penalty minutes than their opponents, the Gladiators are 5-0-1. The Gladiators are 2-2-0 when picking up fewer penalty minutes than their opponent. They had 6 penalty minutes to Greensboro's 18 in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Generals.
Shooting Gallery: In ten games this season, the Gladiators have out shot their opposition in eight games. They are a perfect 2-0-0 when being out shot including Friday's one shot deficit in the 3-2 win at Florence. Despite being out shot, the Gladiators held the Pride to just one shot in second period of Friday's win. The Gladiators are 2nd in the ECHL averaging 36.6 shots a game.
Streaking Along: Kevin Doell added two goals in Thursday's 4-3 win against Columbus and chipped in an assist in the Gladiators 3-2 win in Florence Friday night to extend his consecutive point scoring streak to five games. Doell could not push his streak to six games as he was held off the score sheet in the Gladiators 3-1 loss to Greensboro on Saturday night.
