
Royals Take All Four Points in Peoria

Reading Royals News Release
The Reading Royals rebounded after a rough week three with a perfect week four. Reading traveled for a pair of Northern Division battles in Peoria, Illinois over the past weekend. Friday night, Reading beat Peoria for the first time in over a year 2-1 in overtime. Saturday, a scoreless game spanned nearly forty minutes until the Royals broke through and hammered the Rivermen, 5-0. The Royals now have a record of 5-2-2 with four of those wins coming on the road.
Reading faces off with their busiest week of the season to date. Tuesday, Reading will be in Trenton to battle the Titans for the second time. Friday and Sunday, the Royals will be at home to do battle Toledo and Greensboro, respectively. Friday, the first 2,000 fans through the gate will receive a free Royals schedule poster courtesy of All Star Distributing and Yuengling Lager. Sunday, the Cinema Center is handing out free megaphones to the first 2,500 fans that come through the turnstiles. Saturday, Reading will be in Wheeling for the third overall battle with the Nailers.

GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals stole game one of a scheduled six regular season meetings this season. The Royals claimed their first overtime win of the season 2-1 on a Leon Hayward goal at 3:50 of the four on four OT session. Brad Church scored his team leading fifth goal (3rd on the PP), which accounted for the other Royal marker. Cody Rudkowsky made 28 saves to record his first win of the season.
Saturday, November 8 @ Peoria Carver Arena 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Royals won their second straight game over the Rivermen and third overall in Peoria in their history with a 5-0 victory Saturday night. Reading picked up a Peter Hay goal at the end of the second period and then exploded for four goals in the third period to seal the Rivermen's fate. David Masse, Nick Lent, Kent Davyduke and Leon Hayward all registered goals. Cody Rudkowsky stopped 44 shots to pick up his first shutout of the season.

Tuesday, November 10 @ Trenton Sovereign Bank Arena 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: Reading and Trenton meet for the second time this season. The two teams met in the season opener in Trenton on October 17. Reading skated by the Titans 6-1. Jon Zion led the way for the Royals with a hat trick while rookie David Masse chipped in three assists. These teams will next meet in a month after this game in Reading on December 13.
Friday, November 14 vs. Toledo Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The third battle for division rivals and first in the Sovereign Center in Reading. The Royals have posted a 1-0-1 record against the Storm this season. Toledo nipped Reading in a shootout on Friday, October 24. Reading rebounded with a 5-2 win Saturday, October 25 in the Sports Arena in Toledo. The two clubs will meet three more times to finish out the regular season series.

GAME NOTES: The Wheeling Nailers and Reading Royals go head-to-head for the third time this season and second battle in Wheeling. Reading has a record of 0-1-1 this season. The Nailers handed Reading their first regulation loss on Halloween in Reading, 2-1. The Nailers outgunned Reading two days later in a shootout 7-6 in Wheeling. The Royals and Nailers will next meet in mid January.
Sunday, November 16 vs. Greensboro Sovereign Center 5:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Royals skate outside of their conference for a one game set with the Greensboro Generals. This is the only meeting of the season between these two teams. The Royals are 5-7-1 all-time versus Greensboro.

Peter Hay tallied a goal and an assist in two games versus Peoria this past weekend. Hay's goal turned out to be the game winner Saturday night which is his second of the season. Hay has picked up four goals and six points in eight games with Reading this season.

Spectacular play from goaltender Cody Rudkowsky propelled Reading to two wins this week. Rudkowsky stopped 72 of 73 shots in two games against the Peoria Rivermen this weekend. On Friday, Reading won 2-1 in overtime after being outshot nearly two to one. Saturday, Rudkowsky registered his first shutout of the season stopping 44 shots. It was the first road shutout for a Reading netminder this season and most saves in a single game.
