Idaho Finishes Week with Franchise-First Back-To-Back Shutouts

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads finished the week perfect in a two-game set against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Friday, November 7th Idaho shutout Cincinnati 3-0 with goaltender Dan Ellis in net, and Saturday, November 8th Blair Allison excelled as the winning goalie in a 1-0 match. The pair of wins marked the first back-to-back shutouts in Idaho Steelheads history.

RECORD:

With a 7-5-0 record and 14 points, Idaho is second in the Western Conference, Pacific Division behind Las Vegas, who are 9-1-0 with 18 points. Last year's Taylor Cup Champion and divisional foe San Diego is tied with Idaho in winning percentage with .583 percent, but have less points due to fewer games played - Idaho-12 games; San Diego-6 games. Idaho is currently ranked eighth in the league in points.

IN THE NET: Goaltender Dan Ellis' record improves to 3-4, allowing 23 goals and stopping 186. In shootouts, he is 2-0 and tied for best in the league, allowing only 1 goal in 9 attempts. Ellis has posted a 3.22 average and a save percentage of .890. Goaltender Blair Allison is 4-1-0, allowing only 6 goals in 124 attempts. Allison has posted an average of 1.20 and save percentage of .952; and is first in the league in goals against average (second is save percentage). Going into this season, Allison holds the Steelheads all-time games played for goaltenders with 85 (2001-03); wins with 57 (2001-03); GAA with 2.55 (2001-03); and shutouts with 4 (2001-03).

SCORING LEADERS: Czech native Jan Kopecky (F) has averaged nearly a point in every game. In 12 games played he has notched 11 points, and with an unassisted goal in Saturday night's game against Cincinnati, tallied the lone point. Kopecky has 5 goals and 6 assists, and a plus/minus of 1. Though Chris Marinucci (F) has not played a game since being placed on the 7-day IR on Oct. 30th, he remains second on the team in scoring with 9 points in 7 games played (4G, 5A). Marinucci has also recorded two game-winning goals this season. Darrell Hay's (D) 8 points (2G, 6A) earns him third spot on the team in scoring. Hay was placed on the 7-day IR on November 8th.

PP and PK: Idaho's two wins this week didn't impact their numbers much pertaining to power play and penalty kill. The team remains fifth worst in the league in power play percentage, but moving from 11.11% to 10.1%, and going 7-for-69. The team's penalty kill, ranked fifth lowest last week, improves to tenth lowest at 80%, allowing 13 goals in 65 opportunities.
