
Stingrays Defeat Reign on Military Appreciation Night

North Charleston, S.C. -The South Carolina Stingrays (2-1-0-0) defeated the Ontario Reign (3-2-0-0) 3-1 in front of 4,136 on Military Appreciation Night presented by General Dynamics at the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday evening.
The Stingrays kicked off the scoring early in the first period when forward Hunter Bishop blasted a pass from defenseman Tommy Cross between the legs of Reign goaltender Chris Carrozzi (L, 28 saves on 30 shots) at 3:24. Forward Andrew Cherniwchan made it 2-0 at 12:23 with help from forward Shawn Weller and Cross.
Reign forward Everett Scheen pulled the game within one 1:30 into the second period slipping a shot past the blocker of Stingrays netminder Shawn Hunwick (W, 37 saves on 38 shots). Forward Kyle Kraemer added the lone assist.
Weller sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:20. The Stingrays finished the contest 0-for-6 on the power play while the Reign went 0-for-4.
The Stingrays wrap up their season series against the Reign on Sunday, October 21 at 3:05 p.m. at the Coliseum during Kids Day. All kid's tickets are $5!
