
Royals Sign Forward Tyler Gron

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forward Tyler Gron. A first year pro from Spruce Grove, Alberta, Gron was originally signed by the Royals this past summer. He started the year in training camp with Hershey, but was released from the Bears' camp on October 4. Gron then joined the Royals' training camp in progress and made Reading's opening day roster. He was released by the Royals on Wednesday, October 17, prior to appearing in any games for the Royals. In a separate transaction, the Royals placed Gron on the team's Reserve List.
The Royals return to action on Sunday, October 21, when the Royals will face the Wheeling Nailers at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. The first 2500 fans will get a schedule magnet courtesy of Deibler Dental; the first 5000 fans will also receive a team picture courtesy of the Reading Eagle; and the first 5000 fans will also get a 32 ounce plastic refillable cup courtesy of Diamond Credit Union.
