Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo vs Toledo
October 20, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
While it is very early in the season, first place will be on the line this evening, as the Kalamazoo Wings hit the ice to battle the Toledo Walleye at Wings Stadium. The Walleye defeated the K-Wings last week 4-1 in team's first encounter of the season at the Huntington Center.
Starting the home portion of their schedule on a high-note last night, the K-Wings defeated the Fort Wayne Komets 1-0 in a shootout in front of a sold out crowd. With the game-winner occurring in the shootout, Kalamazoo's offense will try to get back on track, as the team has scored one goal in their past six periods.
Like the K-Wings, the Walleye needed extra time last night to secure a victory, as Toledo defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 3-2 in overtime. After playing their first two games at home, the Walleye are set to hit the road for the first time in the young season.
