TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: 24 hours after dropping a 3-2 overtime decision in Toledo last night, the Cyclones are back home to welcome in the surprising Trenton Titans to U.S. Bank Arena. Since 2006, the Cyclones have owned Trenton - posting a 25-12-2-0 record. In fact, the last time their Atlantic Division foes won a game against Cincinnati was November 5, 2010.

SCOUTING THE TITANS: After finishing in the basement of the Eastern Conference standings a year ago, Trenton can be categorized as the surprise team of the ECHL thus far. With another victory last night in Evansville, the Titans are a perfect 4-0 to start the season. They are led offensively by Andy Bombach, who has seven points (1 goal, 6 assists) in four games - which is also among league-leaders. Marcel Noebels has also been a strong contributor, with five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in the Titans four games in 2012-13. Between the pipes, Trenton has found success with a pair of rookies; Niko Hovinen ranks fifth in the ECHL with a 1.49 goals-against average to go along with his 2-0-0 record. Scott Wedgewood, meanwhile, has also posted a perfect 2-0-0 record and a 1.88 GAA. He earned the win last night at Evansville, making 20 saves.
Home=Winning: If this season is anything like the last, Cincinnati is going to be a tough team to beat at U.S. Bank Arena. In 2011-12, they garnered the second most home points of any team in the league (55) by earning a 26-7-0-3 record.
Multi-Point Madness: Last night in Toledo, the Cyclones got a pair of multi-point performances from two likely sources. Captain Mathieu Aubin, who led the Cyclones in this category last year, posted a goal and an assist. Mike Pelech enjoyed the same stat line in a losing effort. Both are tied for the team lead in points through two games (3)
Striking Early Counts: Getting an early advantage proved to be especially important for the Cyclones last year. When scoring the game's first goal, Cincinnati was 17-5-1-3. That record was magnified even more on home ice, where they went 12-2-0-0 in such situations. So far, they are 1-0-1-0 when they light the lamp first.
