Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, N.Y. - October 20, 2012 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have activated forward Kevin Harvey and goaltender Maxime Clermont from the reserve list while forwards Brandon Blandina and Brad Peltz have been placed on reserve. Additionally, goaltender Nathan Lawson has been reassigned by the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League and forward Kevin McCarey was released.
Harvey, 28, has been out of the Jackals' lineup since training camp but is expected to see his first action of the season against Wheeling tonight. The 6-2, 200-pound forward from Sheffield, Ontario had 10 points (3G, 7A) in 23 games with the Jackals last season. Over his seven year career he has played in the Central Hockey League, the AHL, and the ECHL where he has posted 21 points (6G, 15A) and 261 penalty minutes in 57 games.
Clermont was reassigned to the Jackals by the New Jersey Devils of the NHL from the AHL's Albany Devils on Wednesday. He has yet to appear for the Jackals as he was placed on reserve yesterday to make room for Nathan Lawson who was sent to Elmira by the Ottawa Senators. Clermont, 21, is in his second pro season and went 13-10-3 with the Kalamazoo Wings last season.
Blandina and Peltz each scored their first professional goals on October 13 in a 7-1 victory over Greenville. Blandina signed with the Jackals out of Robert Morris University while Peltz has been assigned to the Jackals by Ottawa from Binghamton. He was a seventh-round draft pick (#190 overall) by Ottawa in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
