BOISE, Idaho - The days and nights are turning colder, but the Idaho Steelheads are hoping for a warm welcome home when they take to the ice this week against Alaska. Idaho, which has been on the road for nearly three weeks, will be collecting new or gently-used coats for kids during Wednesday's and Thursday's games at Qwest Arena.

The coats are being collected for a local nonprofit organization, the Boise Rescue Mission, which will distribute them to children in need across the Treasure Valley. The Steelheads, in turn, will give each donor a '2-for-1' ticket to a future Steelheads game.

"It's hard to believe, but many of our own local children do not have warm coats to wear throughout the winter," said Steelheads Head Coach Derek Laxdal. "Our fans have always been extremely generous, and we once again call on them to help others less fortunate."

The Steelheads face off against division-rival Alaska at Qwest Arena for three games this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tickets for the games, including a variety of Season Ticket Plans for the 2008-09 season, are now available by calling (208) 383.0080 or visiting the team's website at www.idahosteelheads.com.
