THE WEEK THAT WAS: (1-0-0-1)
October 31, 2008 - The Wheeling Nailers cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Dayton Bombers on Halloween Night at WesBanco Arena. Ohio State product Tommy Goebel led the attack with 2 goals while and Nick Johnson tallied 1 goal and 3 assists in extending his league leading goal scoring streak to 6 games. Wheeling went 3 for 5 on the power play. Goalie David Brown recorded his 2nd win with the Nailers and was less than 4 minutes away from picking up the shutout before the Bombers broke up the bid.
Nov 1, 2008 - The Nailers concluded their long run of home games with a shootout loss to the Johnstown Chiefs 3-2. Tobias Holm and Rob Sirianni both scored their 4th goal of the year for the Nailers. Curtis Darling was solid in net making 45 saves in the losing effort. Wheeling remained the only team in the ECHL without a loss in regulation at 5-0-2. This concludes a stretch of 6 of their first 7 games at home for the Nailers.

Broadcasts begin at least 20 minutes prior to opening faceoff with the USA Steak Buffet Pregame Show featuring the Main Street Bank Coach's Conversation with Greg Puhalski. A detailed recap and the updated out of town scoreboard follows each game on the Riesbeck's Food Market Postgame Show.
The Nailers are on the air all weekend with their first road trip of the year. All 3 games are against the Mississippi Sea Wolves from Biloxi, Mississippi. The broadcasts are at 7:45pm Friday, 7:45pm Saturday and 5:45pm Sunday.
The Nailers Power Hour from Generation Pub in Fulton is on Thursday nights from 6-7 pm. Join Bob Rotruck with head coach Greg Puhalski and a player guest every week. Fans can join the fun at Generation Pub and submit their questions for the Nailers Power Hour.
Note - There is no Nailers Power Hour scheduled for Thursday, November 6 because the team will be traveling to Biloxi, Mississippi. The next Nailers Power Hour at Generation Pub is scheduled for Thursday, November 13 at 6 pm.

The Nailers are embarking on their first trip of the year after beginning with 6 of their first 7 games at home. Wheeling will play 3 games in Biloxi, Mississippi against the Sea Wolves this Friday through Sunday, November 7-9.
The Nailers have 3 players in the ECHL top 5 in scoring and also have 4 out of the top 10:
1st - Tommy Goebel, 7-9-16
4th - Aaron Clarks, 5-8-13
4th - Rob Sirianni, 4-9-13
8th - Nick Johnson, 7-4-11
The Nailers are the only team in the ECHL without a loss in regulation at 5-0-0-2. Fresno lost on Saturday to leave Wheeling all alone in that enviable category. It is the best start in Nailers history.
The Nailers hockey organization has 693 wins all-time, most in ECHL history. With 7 more wins they will become the first ECHL team ever to record 700 all-time victories.
The Nailers are the highest scoring team in the ECHL with 37 goals in 7 games (5.28/gm).
Tommy Goebel and Nick Johnson are 1 and 2 among all ECHL rookie scorers. Jordan Morrison (4-5-9) is 5th.
Nick Johnson's 5 power play goals are the most in the ECHL.
Goebel and Johnson are tied for 2nd in the ECHL in goals scored with 7 each. They trail Alaska's Josh Soares by 1.
Goebel and Sirianni are tied for 2nd in assists with 9 each. Clarke is 6th with 8.
Goebel, Clarke and Sirianni are 1st, 2nd and 3rd in plus-minus at +10, +9 and +7.
Wheeling's power play is 1st in the ECHL at 33.3% (13/39). Cincinnati is 2nd best but is well behind at 23.8%.
The opening game of the season was the only time the Nailers did NOT score a PPG. Since then they are 15/37, 40.5% on the power play in their last 6 games.
The Nailers have a power play goal in each of their last 6 games and multiple PPG's in 5 of their last 6.
Wheeling has been tagged for the most PIM in the ECHL with 200.
