Tight South Race Features Key Matchups

The South Division race is tight after the first three weeks with every team at .500 or better led by Charlotte at 5-2-0 and 10 points.

The Checkers will visit South Carolina on Thursday and Augusta on Friday before playing their second home game of the year on Saturday against South Carolina. Charlotte is 59-48-11 all-time against South Carolina and 32-26-8 all-time against Augusta.

Florida (3-2-1), Mississippi (3-3-1) and Augusta (3-3-1) are tied for second with seven points followed by South Carolina (3-2-0) and Gwinnett (2-1-2).

Florida and Gwinnett play in Georgia on Monday before heading to Florida for games on Friday and Saturday. The Gladiators are 25-10-4 all-time against Florida while the Everblades are 14-19-6 all-time against Gwinnett.

Augusta concludes a stretch of seven consecutive road games on Wednesday at Mississippi before returning home for the first time since Oct. 17 to host Charlotte on Friday and South Carolina on Sunday. The Lynx are 11-8-3 all-time against Mississippi while going 34-28-4 against Charlotte and 36-37-9 against South Carolina.

South Carolina will host Charlotte on Thursday before traveling to Charlotte on Saturday and Augusta on Sunday. The Stingrays are 59-42-17 all-time against Charlotte and 46-24-12 all-time against Augusta.

After hosting Augusta on Wednesday, Mississippi will step outside the division for three games when Wheeling visits on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Sea Wolves improved to 11-9-2 all-time against Augusta with a 4-2 road win on Oct. 17.

American Conference - South Division

Augusta Lynx
* Lynx have not scored first in their first seven games going 3-3-1.
* Augusta is tied for the league lead with two shorthand goals.
* Lynx play at Mississippi on Wednesday before hosting Charlotte on Friday and South Carolina on Sunday.

Charlotte Checkers
* Jeff Jakaitis is 4-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.75 and a save percentage of .934 in four starts.
* Rookie Matthew Ford has a five-game point streak (6g-3a).
* Checkers play at South Carolina on Thursday and at Augusta on Friday before hosting South Carolina on Saturday.

Florida Everblades
* Defenseman Jonathan Paiement leads Florida with five assists and seven points in six games.
* Florida's Anton Khudobin is 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.50 in his last two starts.
* Everblades play at Gwinnett on Monday and host Gwinnett on Friday and Saturday.

Gwinnett Gladiators
* Gladiators have scored first in four of their five games and are 2-0-2 in those games.
* Gwinnett has a power-play goal in all five games and is fourth in the league on the power play with 21.4 percent (9-for-42).
* Gladiators host Florida on Monday and play at Florida on Friday and Saturday.

Mississippi Sea Wolves
* Sea Wolves are third in the league in scoring with 4.00 goals per game.
* Ryan Cruthers is tied for third among league rookies with a team-leading nine points (5g-4a).
* Sea Wolves host Augusta on Wednesday and Wheeling on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

South Carolina Stingrays
* Stingrays are 1-0 in overtime games this season and 32-28 all-time in overtime games.
* Rookie defenseman Johann Kroll is tied for the team lead with five assists.
* Stingrays host Charlotte on Thursday before visiting Charlotte on Saturday and Augusta on Sunday.

American Conference - North Division

Cincinnati Cyclones
* Cyclones won final game of 2007-08 and were the last team to win a game in 2008-09.
* Cincinnati leads the ECHL with 12 first-period goals.
* Cyclones host Reading on Tuesday and Wednesday and Elmira on Friday and Saturday.

Dayton Bombers
* Bombers are fifth in the league on the power play with 21.3 percent.
* Dan Riedel is tied for second in the league with four power-play goals.
* Bombers play at Trenton on Friday and Saturday and at Reading on Sunday.

Elmira Jackals
* Jackals are 4-1-0 when they score first.
* Tyler Donati has a seven-game point streak (4g-11a) and a four-game assist streak (7a).
* Jackals play at Cincinnati on Friday and Saturday.

Johnstown Chiefs
* Chiefs are fifth in the league with a goals-against average of 2.75.
* Johnstown's Kris Mayotte is 2-0-0 with a shootout win and a goals-against average of 1.92.
* Chiefs host Reading on Friday and Saturday.

Reading Royals
* Royals had three consecutive home losses for first time in history before beating Idaho 6-2 on Saturday.
* Tyler Doig has a four-game point streak (1g-7a) and a four-game assist streak (7a).
* Royals play at Cincinnati on Tuesday and Wednesday and at Johnstown on Friday and Saturday before hosting Dayton on Sunday.

Trenton Devils
* Devils have scored a power-play goal in every one of their eight games (12-for-57).
* Eric Castonguay has a seven-game point streak (3g-9a) and a seven-game assist streak (9a).
* Devils host Dayton on Friday and Saturday.

Wheeling Nailers
* Nailers are off to their best start ever at 5-0-2 and lead the league with 12 points.
* Rookie Tommy Goebel leads the ECHL with 16 points (7g-9a) in seven games.
* Nailers play at Mississippi on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

National Conference - Pacific Division

Bakersfield Condors
* Condors have scored 13 goals in their two wins and eight goals in their four non-wins.
* Mark Derlago has six points (4g-2a) in his first two games including four points (3g-1a) in his first game on Oct. 29.
* Condors host Victoria on Wednesday and Fresno on Saturday while visiting Las Vegas on Friday.

Fresno Falcons
* Falcons are second in the league with a goals-against average of 2.17.
* Rookie Joe Fallon is 3-1-0 and ranks fourth in the league with a goals-against average of 1.76.
* Falcons play at Phoenix on Wednesday and Thursday and at Bakersfield on Saturday.

Las Vegas Wranglers
* Wranglers have allowed a league-low 24.00 shots per game.
* Chris Ferraro leads Las Vegas with three assists and five points in five games.
* Wranglers play at Phoenix on Monday and host Bakersfield on Friday and Phoenix on Saturday.

Ontario Reign
* Ontario is second in the league in attendance with 6,259 per game.
* Jon Francisco has a six-game point streak (4g-4a) and a two-game goal streak (2g).
* Reign play at Utah on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Stockton Thunder
* Thunder set team records for goals and goals in a period (5 in the 2nd) in 8-3 win at Bakersfield on Saturday.
* Andrew Perugini made 32 saves in his first pro start, an 8-3 win at Bakersfield on Saturday.
* Thunder host Victoria on Friday and Saturday.

National Conference - West Division

Alaska Aces
* Josh Soares has a seven-game point streak (9g-6a) and a six-game goal streak (9g).
* Rookie Jean-Phillipe Lamoureux is 5-2-0 and leads the league with two shutouts.
* Aces play at Idaho on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Idaho Steelheads
* Steelheads are fourth in the league with a goals-against average of 2.71.
* Ben Nelson leads Idaho and is tied for sixth among ECHL rookies with eight points (4g-4a).
* Steelheads host Alaska on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Phoenix RoadRunners
* RoadRunners lead the ECHL in goals-against average with 1.86 and on the penalty kill with 93.3 percent (42-for-45).
* Gerald Coleman leads the league with a goals-against average of 1.34 and a save percentage of .955.
* RoadRunners host Las Vegas on Monday and Fresno on Wednesday and Thursday before playing at Las Vegas on Saturday.

Utah Grizzlies
* Grizzlies are 4-2-0 and off to their best start since joining the ECHL in 2005.
* Mike Mole is 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.50 and a save percentage of .924 in his last two starts.
* Grizzlies host Ontario on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Victoria Salmon Kings
* Salmon Kings have a power-play goal in their last six games (9-for-39).
* Olivier Labelle has a three-game goal streak (4g) and a three-game point streak (4g-2a).
* Salmon Kings play at Bakersfield on Wednesday and at Stockton on Friday and Saturday.
