Idaho Steelheads News Release

GOOD TO BE HOME

Though the ECHL is entering the fourth week of play, the Idaho Steelheads (3-2-2) have played only one game at home. That will change this week as Idaho returns to Qwest Arena to face off against its division rival and current National Conference front-runners, the Alaska Aces (5-2-0), for three games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Alaska has 25 goals-for this season to Idaho's 17-for. Alaska has allowed 20 goals-against, while Idaho has allowed 19. Former Steelhead Scott Burt leads Alaska in penalty minutes with 29. Matt Stephenson leads the Steelheads in PIMS with 23. The Steelheads were 5-3-1-1 head-to-head against the Aces in 2007-08.

AND THAT'S A WRAP

Idaho wrapped up a six-game road trip with a 3-1 win over Trenton on Sunday. The trip began in Phoenix where the Steelheads split two games, then after a one-day stop in Boise, the team moved to Elmira, NY for two. Idaho earned three points in New York with a 4-3 win on Wednesday and 3-2 overtime loss to Elmira on Friday. On Saturday, the Steelheads were beat 6-2 by the Reading Royals, before finishing out the trip strong in New Jersey. In total, the Steelheads came away with 7 of a possible 12 points.
