
Sea Wolves Blank Gladiators, 5-0

Mike Martone's goal 28 seconds proved to be the game winner as the Mississippi Sea Wolves cruised to a 5-0 win over the Gwinnett Gladiators on Teddy Bear Toss night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in front of 6,969 on Saturday night.
Mississippi jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Mike Martone got a jump on the Gladiators defense and slipped in on a breakaway and beat Gwinnett netminder Sean Fields. Chris Cava tallied a helper on the goal just 28 seconds into the first period sliding the puck ahead to Martone.
In the second period, the Sea Wolves netted three goals to take a 4-0 lead before the second intermission. Anthony Battaglia netted the first goal of the middle stanza ripping a snapshot past Fields 10:51 into the second period. Nicholas Corbeil and Louis Dumont added the assists on the goal.
Mike Jarmuth pushed the Sea Wolves lead to 3-0 with a goal 9 seconds into a Mississippi power play. Kerry Ellis-Toddington moved the puck along to Corbeil to pick up an assist on the goal at 13:10 of the second period.
Thirty-five seconds later, Travis Lisabeth extended the Mississippi lead to 4-0, beating Fields with a slapshot over the shoulder. Chris Cava and Lucas Drake had the helpers on the goal at 13:45 of the second period.
Lucas Drake rounded out the scoring with a power play goal 6:17 into the third period. Corbeil and Anthony Battaglia added the assists on the final Mississippi goal of the game.
Sean Fields made 21 saves in the loss for the Gladiators who fall to 18-12-4 on the season. Mississippi netminder Matt Underehill made 29 saves in the shutout win.
