Tough Man Kaczowka Reassigned to Worcester

Peoria, Ill. – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that left wing David Kaczowka has been reassigned to the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Worcester IceCats.

Kaczowka – a 6-foot-2, 230-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan – amassed 119 penalty minutes (PIM) in 15 games with the Rivermen. The 23-year-old tough man registered PIM in every game but two while with Peoria. The fourth-year professional had an eight-game PIM streak with 55 PIM from October 22 to December 28 and then racked up 64 PIM in a current five-game streak before his reassignment.

Kaczowka collected 12 PIM in two games to open the season with the IceCats.

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Rivermen host the Trenton Titans tonight – Saturday, January 15 – in the second of two in a row between the clubs. Game time is 8:00 p.m. due to Bradley University Basketball. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Trevor Baker Wobblehead, courtesy of CEFCU.
