Trenton Devils News Release

PEORIA, IL – The Trenton Titans could not solve Alfie Michaud, as his 42-save performance led the Peoria Rivermen to a 2-0 shutout victory in front of 4,525 at Carver Arena.

After allowing the Rivermen to dominate the first five minutes of play, the Titans spent the majority of the next thirty-five in Peoria's zone. With the help of three power plays in the second stanza, the Titans outshot the Rivermen 16-2 in the middle frame, setting a season-low for shots allowed in a period.

Trenton, however, could not break through Michaud and it was Kris Kasper who broke the scoreless tie 5:10 in the third period, when he roofed a wrist shot over Andrew Allen for his fourth goal of the season. Brian McCullough added an insurance marker fifty-eight seconds later with his fourteenth goal of the year.

Allen turned away 25 of 27 shots as his record falls to 10-5-1. The Titans' power play was 0-for-6, while the penalty kill was a perfect 3-for-3. The Titans now find themselves in a tie for second place in the North Division with the Reading Royals.

The Titans complete their weekend series against the Rivermen on Saturday, January 15 at 9:00pm EST. Tune into to 91.3 WTSR-FM to hear all of the Titans hockey action. Fans can also go to www.trentontitans.com to listen or watch live.
